Ag Day 2015 – Celebrating California Agriculture

Farmers in California work hard to produce crops in responsible, SLDMWAAgDayefficient ways for us all to enjoy. California’s farmers grow our food and fiber using the latest in irrigation and cultivation technology. From remote moisture sensing equipment to buried irrigation tape – farmers are using their experience to match the needs of their crops to the best technologies appropriate in order to grow them.

Since 2003, farmers in the state have invested more than $3 billion improving their irrigation systems- part of an overall culture of perpetual improvement that has led to a productivity growth of 44% since the mid 1960’s, on the same amount of water.

This Ag Day 2015, like every day is another opportunity to celebrate everything and everyone that it takes to make California our nation’s leading ag state. Share your appreciation for California’s farms and farmers on social media, and be sure to include #agday2015.
