As part of the Water Authority's canal maintenance program, Little Salado Creek is cleared of it's vegetation annually.  As you can see by the first photograph one year's growth can be substantial and if not cleaned annually the creek can become obstructed creating irrigation problems.  The last picture shows the creek completely clear of vegetation.
