2/11/15: U.S. Congressional letter to SWRCB: Act Now to Capture Precious Water

In a bicameral, bipartisan letter from House and Senate members, U.S. Congressional representatives have requested California’s State Water Resources Control Board reconsider immediately the decision of the Executive Director to reject efforts to improve near-term operational flexibility as requested in a January 23, 2015 petition submitted by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the Department of Water Resources. Five agencies, including three of with primary responsibility for protecting fish species in the Delta, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, and the California State  Department of Fish and Wildlife have determined that the temporary increase in diversions would pose no additional threat to fish species.
